Question: Bensalem, PA

Can anyone here tell me a little about the Bensalem, Pa area? How is the public schoos system in this area? Is there lots to do? Are there better towns in the area you would recommend?

Most importantly, do you love living there? Thanks for any info!

My brother lives there and not by choice. I won't put it down, but neither would I give it a standing "O". It is tremendously crowded and there is an enormous amount of traffic in the area. The schools system is HUGE when compared to surrounding areas. I can't speak to the quality of the schools.

"Street Road" is the main road in the area. It has just about every chain restaurant known to man, it seems. Shopping centers are next to shopping centers, which are next to shopping centers.... If you enjoy shopping, then you may really like this.

Off the main drag there can be some very nice areas. Another plus is that you are close to the PA turnpike and route 95. That makes getting anywhere pretty easy once you navigate past Street Road.

EDIT: BTW, Bensalem is the proposed site of a HUGE slot machine / gambling parlor. Whether that is a plus or minus, wel, that is up to you. But it surely will make the traffic worse.

I live not too far from there, near Langhorne PA. Not a bad area to live in and it's really gotten built up in the last few years.
