Hi friends-

I am thinking that on an upcoming visit, I will pack lunch for EPCOT for myself and several of my friends to enjoy at the park, but we would like to purchase and share a bottle of wine that we buy in either France or Italy with our lunch. Since they sell it by the glass for consumption, does anyone know if I can open a bottle of wine I purchase at the park inside the park? I've looked everywhere and can not find the policy.

Thanks for your help!

Diana

I know people that bring some cups and their own corkscrew, and then toast their way around the World Showcase on nice evenings.

Be prepared!

When you go through bag check they will not let you bring in glass bottles

She's not going to bring the wine into the park - she's going to buy it at either the France or Italy Pavilions. I think she's asking rather will they let her walk out the door of the restaurant with the bottle of wine.

OP, if I understand you correctly, you are considering purchase of a bottle of wine at one of the shops in France or Italy? I realize it will be late for your planning purposes, but I am sure the people in the shops will be able to advise you. And then you can tell the rest of us!

Yes, that is exactly my question, if I bring my own plastic wine glasses and corkscrew, and buy the wine in the wine shop inside the park, can I open it to have with my lunch? I don't even mind if they want to open it, I'm just too cheap to buy it by the glass

I say it's worth a shot! Surely, you can't go wrong with Italian wine, that's my favorite! I haven't found a French wine I like, but it sure is cheap! ;) Enjoy and good luck...let us know what happens.

On a side note, do you think the cork screw could be a security issue? Maybe get a small one and put it in a pocket or something!?

Have fun!

When i purchased a bottle of limoncella and a bottle of rosa regale in Italy last May- they insisted that it be packaged and sent to the front of the park or to my hotel. :confused3:confused3 Things change every day and every CM seems to do things differently but this was my experience last May. The previous May's (our anniv month)- i know for a fact that I had bought ice wine in canada and been allowed to carry it out of the store with me (i had bought quite a few bottles so I remember well. :rotfl2:).

Just wanted to add, my response is based on an experience/purchase at the Food & Wine Festival. We bought the bottle of Rosa Regale at a booth, and the CM opened it for us and gave us plastic cups.

We have bought a bottle of wine before at the Food and Wine Festival and we've carried it with us. No reason we couldn't have stopped at an outside bench, opened it and had it with lunch. I assume the same would be true of a bottle of wine purchased from France, Italy, or Germany.

You will not be able to leave the park with an open bottle. So make sure you all have a good drink, and don't open more bottles than you can drink in the afternoon. Just remember, you will have to carry a bottle with you. Don't forget to bring something to seal it back up if you don't finish it with lunch.

I don't remember that ever happening to me? That is strange, and I think a lot of CM's really do not know the policies.
