So I've been going back and forth about 32579247 times about WHERE to go for my character meal....Goofy's Kitchen or Minnie&Friends? I was hoping to get more input now that I have a schedule....

It's between 2 different times....on Friday, September 11th, the only thing we have planned for that morning is an 11:00 speech by Dick Cook at the D23 Expo. After that, the only thing we have planned for the rest of the day is going to the parks!

On Sunday, September 13th, the only thing we have in the morning is an 11:00 speech by John Lasseter at the D23 Expo. This day's a little more crazy as it's our last day and we're leaving for the airport around 7pm. So after the John Lasseter speech we figured we'd spend a couple more hours at one of the parks, then head BACK to the Expo for the last hour or so to catch any closing ceremonies they might have or something. So we have a lot going on that day.

Now, on either morning, since we'll want to be at the Expo by 10ish, would it feel rushed or too out of the way to do Minnie&Friend's inside of DL? Even if we got the earliest seating, would it be cutting it close? I was thinking maybe Goofy's would be best if we went for the 13th so we could just start our morning at the hotel...but is it not such a big deal to do Minnie's that morning if I'm right at DLH? Help please! When and Where?!

AFAIK, you can make PS reservations for an hour before the park opens. So it seems if you did want to do M&F, you should have plenty of time.

We have done Minnie & Friends twice. We never felt rushed at all. Our 1st time there we ate inside. It was great we werent there that long since DD was only 7 at the time and didnt really eat that much and she wanted to get on some rides. Last summer we were there with my DSIL and 2 DN (8 & 9) and had a blast (we set outside). The girls had on their Mickey Ears and Chip & Dale decided to take them from my DD and one of my nieces and where teasing the girls and putting them on each other (Chip & Dale). So you can be there anywhere from 30 minutes to just under 1 hour depending how long it takes you to eat.

I do think that since you will be right at the DLH anyway, you should do Goofy's. How can you not? It is almost calling out to you to eat there! It's right there at the hotel!!!:lmao: Now as for whether or not you should only eat there, I already gave you my two cents on that a couple of days ago - I think you should just eat at both places - Minnie and Friends on one morning and Goofy's on the other morning - and solve the dilemma for yourself!! And I bet you will be super content if you DO eat at both places. You will have lots of character interaction, lots of food choices, and you will be a happy camper!

All the character meals have a 90-minute time limit, but you don't have to stay that long. We have been out of Goofy's in an hour before, and other times we stayed the whole 90 minutes.

Ah, Sherry E, you're torturing me with even the simple SUGGESTION of doing them both! You actually have me considering such an option! I know it would make me happier...if I could just come up with the money.

So I guess if I got the earlier slot for Minnie's it would probably work...hm. Thanks for the .2 guys.

Exactly - I would say forget about upgrading the DLH room. The DLH is 'Disney enough' even with a standard room. There is almost nothing more 'Disney' than characters, and you may not get back to DLR for a while, so rather than upgrade the room and pay more money, just do both character meals.

I'm just curious, have you done this? We've always done M&F at 10:00 on an MM day. But for our next trip I was hoping to do it before rope drop as we've done at WDW in the past. When I call Disney Dining, the CM told me it opens 10 minutes after the park opens and not any earlier.

I highly recommend Goofy's Kitchen. We ate dinner there on Tuesday, June 23 at 5:30. It was the best meal we had in our 5 day trip to DL. The food was great. It is a buffet so everyone can find something that they like. Goofy's is perfect for those traveling with kids 10+ that have to order off of the Adult menu. The character interaction was perfect. We saw Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Sleeping Beauty.

We prepaid for this meal through the WDW travel services and saved a lot of money.
