Question about Water Park Days

Everytime we've been to WDW, we've never been to the waterparks and have always just used a parkhopper for the basic 4 parks. I noticed through the Mousesavers newsletter that there's less than $5 difference between the non-expiring 10 day MYW ticket and the non-expiring MYW ticket that includes 5 visits to the waterparks. Seems hard to pass up! My question is: if you spend a day at the Water Parks, does that count as one of your PHP days? I mean, would you have 10 days at the parks and 5 days at the water parks? Conversely, if you spent 5 days at Typhoon Lagoon, would you only have 5 days left for the regular parks?
Can't believe that after over 500 posts, I still don't know this!

Ooh. I hope you would have 10 days for the 4 main parks and 5 "Plus" water park or DQ visits. Because that is how I am planning it for our next trip! We'll have 7 day tickets with 5 Plus options and hopper. I am planning to have 2 days of water parks and an evening or two at DQ, and 7 days of unlimited theme parks. Somebody please tell me if I misunderstood this!

Your plusses are totally separate from park days. If you get the 10 day, 5 plusses. You will have 10 park days and 5 separate plus days. If you go to MK that uses a day, if you go to a water park in the afternoon, that uses a plus. If you only go to a water park one day, you've only used a plus. Does that make sense??

If on a day you visit a water park or Disney Quest, etc.and do not visit any major theme park, you do not consume a "day"

So with the 10 day pass you could conceivably be in Disney facilities for 15 different days (14 if the pass is expiring).

I am guessing that the 10 day pass with plusses that costs only $5. more does not have hopping which the other pass you are referring to does. If both passes you are comparing are the same except one has plusses, the price difference is about $45.
