Question About Walkway Between Epcot and DHS

I am considering entering thru Intl Gate at Epcot this trip. We will be at Pop Century.

I want to start my day at Epcot in World Showcase as opposed to Future World.

From what I understand, I should take the bus to HS and then grab a boat to get to the back entrance of Epcot.

Please confirm this for me.

The idea is to enjoy World Showcase at a leisurely pace as opposed to being completely exhausted before we even get started. I have reserved 2 full Epcot days.

This may change if I find out that AK has new Rivers of Light show!! Just trying to conserve my steps!!

You can also walk to Epcot from DHS, but are you aware that WS doesn't open as early as FW?

Only if you are going to be starting your day at EPCOT at 11am.

Keep in mind that World Showcase doesn't officially open until 11:00. The bakery in France is open before that, but from what I've read (we haven't gone to the bakery for breakfast yet), you won't be able to stroll around before 11:00, except back up to Future World. Nothing else in WS will be open until 11:00 (except Akershus sp? on the other side of WS). So unless you are a late starter, it may not make sense to start with WS from the IG.

I don't see this being any kind of alternative, unless there was NO other mode of transportation...

The wait for a bus to HS is mainly the same as other parks...No more or less...That can be 2 mins, or 15 mins. But from that point alone you'd have a 6 or 7 min. ride to the park. If you factored in all the time it'd take you to get from Poly to TTA, then to EPCOT, then to HS.....It'd be time for the park to close..LoL j/k of course but it would be pretty long. Even if you walk from POLY to TTA to be a lil quicker...But factor all that walking in between both places & then this makes the decision way easier to just Grab a Bus.

The fact that WS opens later is fine with us. My only concern with doing this is that I used to always do FW first, and stay in the cool of the buildings and save WS for when the sun was not so hot.

We are just changing things up this year. Have been lots, but always did FW first. As the years have gone by, I have been wiped out by the time we began our walk around WS.

So, let's hope the sun is not killer when we go in March. It can be.

The french bakery in back of France is wonderful. Like to get a ham sandwich on a baguette. Very good.

I remember one year we got into the park early to do the princess breakfast at the Norway castle. Then started round the world and it was soooo hot.

It is fun to see different parts of Disney, if you have time. Doing different means of transportation can be interesting.

Time being the key here. Since we are repeat visitors I think this will be fine.

I have Illuminations viewing booked for the evening. Again, just to be different. I know the FP is not necessary. Again, so tired in past years, they we were literally walking out of the park as Illuminations was going on. This year will be a much slower pace for us.

For those of you in the know about the walkway between Epcot and DHS would it be more efficient to take the monorail from Poly to Epcot and walk to DHS rather than wait for the bus from Poly to DHS (which I hear can be a pain)?

It is a really nice walkway though. I book my resorts in the Epcot area now just because I enjoy the walks so much.
