question about walking a reservation

I recently purchased 50 BWV points. Guide told me to bank Asap as passed my banking window. I did know this so no problem.So this then gave me 150 points for a 2013 vacation. 2 weeks latter and I am booking for December 2013. I booked a handicap standard 2 bedroom today for November 30th and departure December 4th. I want to cancel November 30th tomorrow and add on the 4th and 5th. I will have exactly the amount of points I need to do this. Will I be able to add those days tomorrow to my exsisting ressie or will i have to wait until December 4th to do so. Also when canceling the 30th will I need to be specific on what points i want them to cancel from that day(November 30th). Meaning the banked 2012 or the 2013 or the borrowed from 2014. Hope I explained myself right..... Susan

You won't be able to amend the beginning of that reservation until the 2nd as MS is closed on the 1st. If you drop the 30th of November, then your reservation wouldn't be starting until the 1st, which can't happen until exactly 11 months out--the 1st of January.

However, when you call on the 2nd, you can drop the night you want and add the 4th and 5th at the same time to your existing reservation. Since you are dropping and adding nights, I wouldnt worry about which points since they will just reuse the points from the canceled night to rebook those extra nights you want.

You will need to call Member Services to cancel the 30th, but I'm not sure if they can do that tomorrow and hold your remaining days. It may be Wednesday before the rest of your days can be held.

Since you need all the points from Nov 30 and your remaining points to book Dec 4 and 5th, it doesn't look like it matters what the status of the points are.

Member Services can rebook your reservation for you (after cancelling Nov 30) - once the actual booking day for Dec 1 arrives - that may not be until Jan 1 online or Jan 2 if being done through MS. 7 days can be booked at once when the window opens up.

Dec 4th and 5th are there now in a HA 2bedroom. Dec 1, 2, and 3 are the problem - they are NOT showing in HA. Since you have those nights locked in there is a good possibility you will get the others - other early bookers could have had them already if they so desired and had the points.

In my opinion it is best to get help from MS with this transaction.

Thank You. The plan will be to call MS and cancel the 30th. I did not plan on booking the 30th but when I went on line earlier that morning to check for fun my dates of December 1st for 5 nights nothing was available at all in a 2 bedroom standard view not even the 30th. Couple hours latter checked again for the 1st-6th and saw that the 30th and on was then available so i figured even though i didn't want the 30th that I had bettter snag it and deal with trying to cancel and rebook the other days latter. At least I will have 4 nights at BWV in a standard if nothing else is available on the 2nd. I apparently got the last standard 2 bedroom. I also have points at BLT and AKV so i will get to finish my vacation at either of these resorts so a happy ending no matter where I get to stay. Of course if I book the remainder somewhere else I will waitlist BWV at 7 months and hope for the best so I don't have to move to another resort half way through the vacation.
