Question about wait list.

Planning ahead - since we just bought in at AK how does it work if I book at the 11 month window. Then, I decide try for another resort reservation at 7 months. If there isn't room and I go on a waitlist what happens to my original reservation? Can I keep it until I know that I have another one in place or do I have to give it up to be on the list?

Yes, the waitlisted room would replace your exisiting reservation. Until the waitlist request is fulfilled you keep your original room. Bottom line- you don't risk losing your original reservation. Everything is automatic.

Great, that was what I was hoping to hear. There is so much information and I want to keep it all straight so I can make the best use of my DVC! Another question though, say the room at AK was 220 points and I only have 200, then my new reservation is for 200. Would the extra 20 points borrowed to make the AK reservation going back into the correct year assuming it is more than 4 months out or would I HAVE to use them that same year the reservation was made?

The borrowed points will not go back to the year they were borrowed from. They should use them in your reservation and you can bank 20 of the current year points if you are still in your banking window.
