Question about using Visa Reward Points for Package

Hi there!

We have saved and saved our points and will be using them to pay for the majority of our trip next year. But now I'm wondering, what happens if we had to cancel? Will Visa put the points back on our card or will be out a lot of $$$ in points!? Would trip insurance cover that?

Nobody knows? I called Disney and they said I had to ask Chase about it. I called Chase and they said I had to ask Disney about it... Called Disney back, they said I had to ask Chase. Hmmm...

Well.. you are acquiring the points on your Disney Visa but in order to use them they first need to be transferred to a Disney Reward Card. So you'd be using that as your form of payment. If you cancel, they should be credited back to the Disney Reward Card. Once points are transferred from your Visa to the Reward Card, they can't be transferred back.

Thanks! That's what I meant. Would they go back on the Rewards card that expires. The first person I talked to at Disney thought I would lose them all, but he wasn't sure, so glad to hear that!

I was overcharged at a restaurant at WDW and had used my rewards card. They just credited it back to my card. I would assume it would work the same way for anything you used your card for.
