Question about using unused days on a ticket

I've read the ticket sticky and I think I've read it right, but I can't be sure if this can be done.

Last year when I went to WDW in september I was there for a day and a half and then got sick (Nasal and respiratory infection with fever) and didn't end up going to the parks a lot of the days. So now I have the ticket with the unused days and I'm going again this year. Can I use those days if I upgrade the ticket to no expiration, and does that make any financial sense?

Unfortunately, no. You have to do any upgrades within 14 days of first use. If you would have added the no exp option on your original trip, you would be good to go. You will need to by a new ticket as your current ticket is expired and completely unusable.

Thanks! I never add no expiration and probably still won't, but I guess in that case when I didn't use them I should have added them before I left. Oh well.

It is seldom a good plan, financially, to add Non-expiration to tickets, unless the remaining days will fully cover the requirements of you next trip(s.)

You cannot upgrade even a Non-expiring ticket after 14 days from its original use.
