Question about using Priceline to get your hotel

I know that when you use Priceline, there is no way of knowing what hotel you're getting. What I want to know is, if I specify Disney Area, how far from Disney can I be? I looked at the map, but I'm only familiar with Disney and DTD area, so I can't tell. Also, I don't know if I should specify "4 star hotel" or "resort"--I'm really hoping to land the Swan or Dolphin if I do this.

BTW, We already have a trip planned for Dec. and dh decided he wants to stay one more night. Of course there is no availability on property at this point. What do you think the chances of something opening up for December 13 between now and the time we leave? I've been calling everyday!

Give this site a good read - it is generally regarded and one of the better sources for information on bidding rooms through Priceline. Pay attention to the bidding FAQ's and the hotel listings and you ~may~ be able to get a very good hotel at a fairly reasonable price ;) .

Good Luck !

Check out www.biddingfortravel.com it has the answer to all your questions. Personally I have had good luck when using priceline for the Disney area. I have received the Wyndham Palace twice and most recently the Hilton in DD Disney. I always bid a resort and have never had the good fortune of getting the Swan or Dolphin but I have never been disappointed in the resort I have gotten vs. the amount I have paid. Good Luck!

The chances of getting S/D on PL is very small. If that's the hotel you want try to get a discount rate (Entertainment, AP, occupational).
