Question about using DVC when you're not a member?

My parents are the DVC owners and were originally going on our vacation to DisneyWorld in 2 weeks. Well, my mom (Hurricane Patti or Hanname as some of you know her :) ) Has been in the hospital for almost 2 months now and is now on dialysis. She won't be able to make it to this vacation and my dad is staying home w/ her. What do we have to do when we get to SSR? Do I need my dad's card? Does he need to call and let them know it's just us? Thanks!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong -

Your parents need to call MS and have the reservation under your name.

I'm so sorry your mom is ill. I was just thinking the other day that it has been a while since we had a visit from her.

Please give her a hug fo us. :grouphug: And I hope she is well soon.

I was thinking about her, too. I'm sorry to hear she's ill. Please tell her she's missed here on the DIS. Hopefully, she'll be back for a visit here soon.

Sending prayers for your Mom's recovery. We miss her here.

I'm so sorry your mom is ill. We miss here around here. And we wish her all the best :grouphug:

Best wishes to your mom.

Your dad will need to call and move the reservation into your name. You won't need his member card. When you show up, you'll check in just like you would at a hotel - provided your name is on the reservation!

Thanks everyone. I will tell her you all are thinking of her and that will make her feel better. I don't know when she will be home and she is getting very depressed being there so long. Hopefully the dialysis will make her feel better and she will be back to normal making her spelling on errors on here as usual. Thanks again!

Too bad you can't figure out some way to get her a laptop to while a way the hospital time - maybe it time would go by faster if she could "surf the DIS" with us. We don't mind spelling errors, LOL!

Best wishes -

Just adding a "Get Well Soon" to your Mom - hope she's doing better soon - :flower:

We really do miss your Mom! I think the laptop idea is a good one.

I hope your Thanksgiving can be celebrated with her coming home.

Sincerely,
Tom :sunny:

You should check with the hospital, sometimes they will loan out laptops to patients!!

Best wished to your Mom for a sppedy recovery! :grouphug:

Best wishes for your Mom's speedy release from the hospital and for a pleasant trip for you and the rest of the family - Please don't forget to get your mom that "mig" that started it all. When I am having a not so great day I soemtime think of the lang thread and how much caring and love it finally generated. Good luck to you all.

Thanks everyone! She asked about bringing my dad's laptop in but they said no, not sure why. We're hoping maybe tomorrow but she will have to go to dialysis on Thursday & Friday.

Hi Jeneen!

I'm also sorry to hear your mom is hospitalized. I'm sure there are many of us that would love to send a get-well card if there's any address you would feel comfortable having us use via PM's. BTW, how's the new baby? Hope everything went well and that you have a wonderful vacation together. And, as previously posted...just have the ressie put in your name and everything will be fine. :flower:
