Question about upgrading tickets

We are considering doing one of those timeshare tours that give you two day tickets. I am wondering if we can take them to Disneyworld and upgrade them to ten day tickets. Does anyone know if they give you full retail value toward the upgrade>?

Empirically, what happens when you upgrade a ticket obtained from a non-Disney source varies all over the map.

Many timeshare tickets (and other promotional, hurricane, and complimentary tickets) cannot be upgraded at all. Since you don't know this in advance, it is not desirable to get tickets for a 4+ day vacation by attending a timeshare presentation.

The general rule is that the credit value of a ticket from a non-Disney outlet is what Disney received for it when it was purchased wholesale or in bulk. There is at least one rumor going around that if the ticket is partially but not wholly used and was not used more than 13 days ago, adding water park fun or hopping or non-expiration costs what is posted above the ticket booth for those options.

Doing the upgrade at a park rather than at a resort apparently has a better chance of its being done "correctly".
