question about upgrading kids to adult

I have a question about upgrading our child to an adult on the dining plan. We are planning our trip for the end of Oct. We are upgrading our son to the adult dining plan. IF free dining is offered how does that work will he be required to do the kids dining plan?

My family and I are going this May and did upgrade the dining for my 8 y/o boy to adult dining. Not because he is fat or eats a lot. It's just that 90% of the kids meals suck and are such small portions with no variety. My son is very happy he will be able to order off of the adult menus.

To do this. Call Disney reservations and tell them that's what you want to do. He will be charged for adult dining in addition they will charge his park passes as an adult to, because the only way they can make that work is by putting him in the 10 y/o bracket. Your resorts costs will not change. Hope this helps.

You must register the child as being 10 years old and pay for an adult park ticket. That's all you need to do.

The only thing you would pay extra for is the park ticket. The dining plan would still be free, and a 10 year old would not pay anything extra on the room.

If you register the child as being under 10 they will automatically be on the child's plan.

Yes, your information is on file and the CM will see the ages, but upgrading a child to the adult DDP is done all the time, so no worries. Just tell the CM what you want to do and they will adjust your child's age to reflect the adult DDP/park ticket .
