Question about upgrading Give a day vouchers

My husband and I volunteered for the give a day, get a day program back in Febuary. We have been holding onto our vouchers all this time so we can use them toward my son's birthday trip in November. We would like to use them to upgrade for a socal-select annual pass. As far as I understand, since i'm planning on doing the $9 monthly payment plan, instead of paying the $76 down payment, I can use my give a day pass as the down payment and just pay the $9 monthly per pass? Am I correct in my thoughts on this? Or do I have to have the downpayment in cash, and instead of doing monthly payments I would use the voucher to pay in full?

I cannot say with 100% certainty, but I am *almost* positive you can do what you are thinking.

In May, we used our GAD to upgrade to SoCal Select - did not do the payment plan - but there was lost of discussion on the DIS about this exact topic - and my recollection is that others did what you want to do (use the GAD as a down payment). I will see if I can find the thread.....

On this thread, someone did exactly what you want to do with no problems.

I thought there was a longer, more involved thread on the subject, but can't find it now. But at least this shows that someone was able to use it as the down payment and then set up monthly payments.

You GAD ticket is worth $76 toward an upgrade. Just an FYI to make payments after that on an AP you have to be a SoCal resident.

You are correct. We used our GAD vouchers today and upgraded to APs.
