Question about upgrading/bridging park tickets

I have done this in the past with tickets I bought from UT. I have some tickets that were bought at WDW last year. My question is can I use them to enter the park and will they be bridged to current gate prices? I seem to remember reading that tickets bought from Disney directly would only be credited what you paid to Disney for them. Not sure if I remember that correctly or not, so I am asking here.

1. Sorry, but no.

2. That's correct.
(Unless you bought these tickets as part of a WDW Resort Package.)

Ok, but I can still upgrade them, correct?
I just would only receive credit for what I paid?
Another question: what about tickets that I bought from orbitz? I had a voucher which I exchanged at guest relation for tickets. Would those tickets be able to be bridge at current gate price? Or only what I originally paid orbitz for them?
I know I a lot of questions but I have a trip coming up in January and want to know ahead of time what I can and can't do with my tickets.

The Orbitz tickets really depend on what the Orbitz voucher said. They are capable of coding tickets so they can not be upgraded.

1. Likely. (Especially if you only saved only around $5-20 off the gate price.)
2. I don't know what kind of tickets that you bought.

It doesn't say anything on the original voucher. I still have a copy of that as well as the hard tickets that I got at WDW.

At the time yes, it wasn't a huge savings in gate price. The bigger savings was a 20% cash back rebate from ebates (which was my motivation in purchasing the tickets in advance)

I bought 5 day MYW tickets - not hoppers.

I have my two daughters going, I will be upgrading their tickets to AP's. I also have their boyfriends. I want to use the 5 day tickets, but may want to add hoppers, not sure if they will use the hopper or not, but want to be able to add them if they do decide they want to hop. The rest of us already have AP's.

If they ARE upgradable (sounds like a good possibility,) then they will be "price-bridge" eligible.

Thank you for your advice. These are the only tickets that I have ever bought from orbitz so I didn't know. I may not want to take a chance especially for my daughters and find out I can not upgrade them to AP's. In your experience would it be stated on the voucher wether or not they could or could not be upgraded? I already linked one on my MDE and it looks like any other ticket that I have linked in the past.

Normal tickets from Orbitz can be upgraded. I doubt Orbitz sells any tickets that cannot be upgraded.

I've seen Orbitz tickets that have a use by date. Typically a ticket sold with a use by date can not be upgraded or if it is the use by date stays valid. May have been an Expedia ticket.

I've seen Orbitz request a "pickup" date, but I haven't seen them sell anything other than normal tickets.

Most of what I know about WDW tickets, I learned from Mike.
He'd often PM me with new ticket info over the years.

Yes, he will be missed.
