Question about Universal

I'm not sure if this is the right board to post this on, but I figured I'd try it.
My husband and I are going to Disney in March, but we're wanting to try Universal for the first time while we're there. I was wanting to know if it's possible to do both Universal parks in one day, or if we really need two? We don't have kids, and we're really not much into the parades and shows, so that won't really be a factor. We just want to see the park and enjoy the rides. Also, is Universal's fastpass worth the extra money? Any thoughts? Thanks!!

If you're not into thrill rides like roller coasters and elevator drop rides then I wouldn't bother with Islands of Adventure. My husband and I went and walked around the park for a couple of hours and then went to Universal Studios. I figure the only way that you'll be able to do both parks in one day in March would be to get the Express Pass. That will get you on and off the rides quickly but you'll be paying a lot for a one day two park ticket plus the express pass. Go to the universalorlando.com site. Be careful because there's a lot of different kinds of tickets. There is one express pass that is an admission ticket too, the VIP one but it's $150 each for one day two parks. The other express passes are just add ons to a regular ticket. It's kind of confusing and I think the express pass price has to do with the date you go, costs more at busier times.

It's really hard to do both Universal and IOA in a single day. There is too much to see and do to try and rush through it. If you have the time, take two days to see everything and not feel rushed. Universal is a lot more laid back than Disney so you don't have to rush...it is a vacation...right?

The Express Pass is worth it during busy times and March historically, is not a busy time. I would wait until you arrive to see what the lines are like. You can purchase the EP's at either park.

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but we are thinking of doing the same thing. We are going to Disney 2/21-2/28. And were thinking of going to US and IOA for a day. Do you think we will need an express pass during those dates?

Probably not but you can always purchase the EP when you arrive. I would never recommend someone purchasing the EP ahead of time unless they're going during a heavy season. If the lines look to be getting a little too long for you, just purchase the EP at either park.
