This is a cry for help from you UA/IOA vets. out there..... Our family will be trying out US/IOA sometime in 2008. We think it will more than likely be the fall of 2008. What is the cheapest rate on any of the three hotels @ UA/IOA that you have paid?:confused3 What time of the year was it? :confused3 How did you get the rate (through AAA or some other special)?:confused3 And last, any tips for getting a good rate? Thanks from a newbie....it is much appreciated.:)

The cheapest rate I have gotten was early June 2006 at RPR, we paid $129 for week nights and $149 for weekend nights. This was a Preferred Annual Passholder rate, or APH is the way to code it on the website. This link will get you rates on all three hotels: https://universalhotels.ibe.netbook...o;jsessionid=4943DE458041FC59B904565CF9093275
You could consider getting AAA, as it still will qualify you for Loews First perks if you are a member (and I recommend that you become a member if you are not). Discount rates may not come out until fairly close to your dates.

I'd be interested to know this as well. We will be traveling in Aug. 2008 and would like to stay at the Hard Rock because I know how much DS14 (will be 15 at that time) and DH would love it there, but I see the Royal Pacific is less expensive and also looks like a great hotel and we could use the pool at the Hard Rock. I see that they offer a AAA discount and I tried the ent. book discount, maybe it's too soon for that to be available? Unless I can get the room for 2 nights close to the price we are paying at CSR in Disney than we will probably extend our stay there and drive over to US/IOA. I'm also trying to find out if I can use some of my travel points towards a free night. Thanks, :) Linda

The entertainment book discounts aren't as good as the AAA rates.

If I book it with AAA discount and a better discount comes out as the trip gets closer can I add that to me ressie or would I have to make a new one? :) Linda

Or best rate in February 13 - 16 (mid week) at HRH was $149/NIGHT with annual pass discount. The RPR AP rate was $129, but no rooms were left at that rate.

Best rate we ever paid was the inaugural $99.00 per night for club at RPR.

More recently, the best rate has been an AP rate at RPR the week before Christmas. They were offering a special AP promotion for the period right after Thanksgiving through 12/23.

Same as the other listed rates above $129/$149 weekend, but they threw in free parking and some drink coupons for Jakes.

You should just be able to 'switch' the rate...if they won't let you, make new res, confirm it, and when you have the confirmation number, cancel the old res....you have till 5 days to arrival to cancel w/o penalty.
