I made reservations at Chef Mickey's for breakfast our first morning there. Ok, so that's at the Cont. Resort, we are staying at AKL. I read that the buses don't run between hotels, so we'd need to ride to a park, then go to the CR from there. Could we just drive our own vehicle to CR from AKL? Then we could go back to AKL to park and hop on the bus for the park. Makes sense, right?? Since we will need to be there before 7:20, I'm thinking an hour hopping around buses will be a nightmare...I'd rather drive!

Absolutely! :thumbsup2 Driving is definetely the easiest. And since you are a resort guest I am pretty sure you don't have to pay to park at the parks so you could just drive from the Cont. to your park for the day if you don't want to go all the way back to AKL.

The alternate is to see how early MK opens for the day. If it is Extra Magic Hours and the buses will be running early enough you just need to take a bus to MK and then walk to the Contemporary. It is a short, easy 10 minute or so walk. Then you just take a bus from the Contemporary to where ever you want to be for the day.

Looking at their schedule, it looks like that day is and Extra Magic Hours day at MK, which we wanted to do after Chef Mickey. But they list the hours from 9-9...how early do the buses run if the park doesn't open until 9am?

I think dh would rather drive than walk for 10 minutes...especially with a 3 year old in tow. :rolleyes1 We might just do our car that first day and save the buses for later!

If it is morning EMH then the park opens at 8am and I think the busses start running about 90 minutes before opening but I am not completely sure. You can probably get better answers to this on the Transportation board. http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16

I do agree that driving is probably your best option though. :thumbsup2

It doesn't matter what time the park opens. There will always be early morning buses running in order to get guests to the early breakfasts. So...if you have a seating at 7:20, be out at the bus stop at AKL by 6:30ish. Hop on the MK bus. When you get to MK, just stay to the right, rather than go left towards the entrance to MK. You will take the sidewalk, right under the monorail line, that goes on the opposite side of the entrance driveway you just used on the bus. Follow the sidewalk to the CR...about an 8 min walk. When you get to the CR, take the escalators up to CM's.

wow, that early? Yup...the car ride is sounding better and better. :rotfl: How far of a drive is it going straight there you think without dealing with the bus?? I need to get a map....
