I have searched through old posts and did not find anything about tipping Disney photographers for park shoots or dessert parties. How much do you tip them? 15% of the fee? That seems like a lot for the MK shoot tip. :scared1: Do they have an assistant for the MK shoot? How much would you tip them? Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Honestly, I have never heard of anyone tipping the Disney photographers. I'm not sure why, since they are employees not independent contractors—it just seems like no one ever does it. But don't let that stop you, if it's something you want to do. Just tip what you can afford—it doesn't have to be 15% of the total cost of your photography. You could do a flat $25 or $50 or whatever amount you're comfortable with.

The theme park bridal portrait session is traditionally done with just one photographer, no assistant.

Thanks so much! Your book has been so helpful too. Looking for your next one maybe "The Lurkyloos Dine Disney Style". My DF just finished our hats "per your DH's instructions". I'll have to post the story when we get back. :rotfl:

We tipped our DPS photog $25 (she was with us for one hour). Since the photog was included in our package, I didn't know what "price" they put on that element in terms of doing a percentage tip so we just went with a flat amount, which I had ready in an envelope to give her before she left. I also sent her a thank you note once we got the pics to let her know how pleased we were with how they turned out.

We did a short shoot with a Disney photographer and attempted to tip her since she was lovely to work with. She refused and said she was grateful but that Disney does not allow tipping.

I actually just got off the phone with my DFTW sales person and she said that the only people that are expecting a tip are the drivers and the planner. The drivers are the only ones that are contracted out.

I would also think your make up an hair person possibly if they are from a company dont own it themselves.

If you want to tip your photographers and videographers I would agree with some of the statements above and tip a flat fee... if you have the $$ then definitely give a 10-15% of the photography. That is if they satisfy your thought as to how hard a photographer/videographer or DJ should work.

Long story short ... they will appreciate anything you give them.

Not that I am fishing for a tip in any way/shape/form, but just like drivers, all Disney Fairytale Wedding DJs are contracted out for weddings they perform. Club DJs (such as the DJs that used to perform at nightclubs on Pleasure Island) are considered employees by Disney.

Disney Wedding Coordinators (also considered "employees" by Disney) used to contractually *not* be able to accept tips, but that has since changed. Wedding Coordinators can accept tips (if they do a great job for you! :) )

Can I just check, that your planner is not necessarily the 'co-ordinator' that is there on your wedding day- is this right? If thats the case who do you tip? If it's the planner and you dont get to see them on the day, how do you get the tip to them?
And if it's a co-ordinator on the day, how much approx would you tip them?
Thanks, very confusing stuff lol

The wedding consultants (first people you work with, the ones who do the contract) do not show up at Escape weddings and may or may not be at Wishes weddings. The wedding services coordinator (Escape)/wedding event planner (Wishes) will be there on the day of. However, it can be awkward to give them a gift or even a note at that time because they have their hands full (literally and figuratively) running the wedding!

I would suggest mailing a thank-you note and any gift/gratuity to them after the wedding. Or, if you're having a Wishes event and will be doing a rehearsal, you could give the gift to your wedding event planner then.
