We are considering a Disney Cruise in Europe! My question is how much time does it take to get on and off the ship at the ports? We are 6 adults in good shape physically. If, for example, we have 10 hours in Rome, do we really have 10 hours, or does it take an hour to get off/on the ship? Thank you!!

In the past, you would be able to disembark fairly quickly once the ship was cleared. People who were not part of a DCL excursion would just line up, and once the ship was cleared, the line moved pretty quickly. However, this is a little hard to predict for the future. Currently, due to COVID protocols, DCL is using a queue system where you sign-up to disembark, so it may take a little longer. But, who knows if they will be doing this next summer.

Be aware that Civitavecchia is about an hour by train from Rome, so you will not have 10 hours in Rome even if you are first off the ship.

Like the pp said, the port where the ship docks for Rome is Civitavecchia which you should allow 90 minutes travel time each way. The first thing you need to do is look at the itineraries and see the port where the ship docks and the distance to the locations you want to go. Le Harve is 90 minutes travel time each way to Paris, and 3 hours travel time each way to Disneyland Paris. Some ports are tender ports, some ports are commercial trade ports, some ports are 2 or 2 hours travel from the main place of interest and some ports are right at the city or town.

You also need to decide on whether you want a Mediterranean cruise which is hot weather, and countries such as Spain, Southern France, Italy and Greece, with historic ruins and medieval cities and towns or Northern Europe which is cool weather and mountains, forests, fields, fjords, hot springs, historic towns and cities in British Isles, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Northern France.
