Question about tickets

We purchased 4 day hopper tickets for our upcoming trip and are contemplating going to WDW again in December. I was just wondering if anyone knows if you can upgrade to an annual pass from your park hopper or if we would have to start from scratch for an annual pass. We bought the tickets before the Magic Your Way started, if that matters.

You can take your PH tickets to any Guest Relations location at the theme parks or at DTD. They will scan your old tickets one at a time and tell you what the value of it is. You can then apply that ticket and it's value towards the purchase of an AP. Only one ticket can be applied towards each AP.

I was just wondering what the benefits of the AP are- if it is worth paying the $180 difference in price if we "might" go. Are the hotel discounts that good? What are the merchandise/food discounts? Thanks again!

I just updated my one day park hopper to a seasonal pass. The only drawback is that the 365 days begins from the date you purchased your first ticket. Hope this helps!

When you are dealing with upgrades within 7/14 days (depending on which ticket is involved) on a ticket that has been used for non-Florida residents, then the AP/PAP is back dated to the date the first admission is used. This is not a major problem as they can only upgrade (applying the entire original purchase price of the old ticket) within a very short time window - 7 days from first use of an old style PH/PHP and 14 days with the new MYW tickets.

After those time frames have passed, the ticket cannot be upgraded. It can only have the dollar value of the unused park admissions credited towards the price of a new ticket, AP/PAP, etc. Your AP/PAP is not back dated when doing this. You will get a full one year from the day you do this dollar value transaction.
