All,

I have a fairly simple question.

If I buy tickets for our "day guest" visit in a month through my MDE account, will they automatically be linked so that I can start pulling my FP+, or do I have to wait for delivery of the actual media and link them when I have them in hand?

Thanks in advance if you know and can give me the answer. Essentially, I am trying to decide if I should pay for the rush shipping.

1. Yes.
2. You should not order the tickets to be SENT to you.
Order as "Will Call" (pick up at WDW.)
3. See #2 above.

Why "will call"? Won't that just cause a delay and an additional line to wait in upon arrival at the park?

No, because you don't actually need the ticket, because they will automatically be linked to your MDE account.

Yep. Auto linked. Bought AP's earlier today, and they were auto linked to our MDE by the end of the transaction...we also picked the will call option for pickup.

In THIS case, I don't see that the guest will necessarily have a MagicBand ("day guest") so a ticket will be needed.

@Robo Agree about the ticket. I'm in a similar situation with a 1 day off site visit. Just wondering why you're advising "Will call" instead of pretrip mail delivery?

I was going by your original answer that stated that the ticket would be automatically linked at time of purchase, although I admit I didn't think about not having a Magic Band. However, I see that the OP has a ticker featuring Pop Century, and I'm wondering if the reason that day guest is in quotes is because the OP isn't really a day guest, but booked less than 60 days out

I went ahead and had them mail it to me.....but they also showed up in my MDE immediately. I prefer to have the physical ticket in hand because all the glitches in MDE make me nervous about them disappearing or something horrible (though in Disney's defense, I'm not hearing about those very often any more). I chose the free shipping since I only need them before we leave in 3 months, so no need to pay for shipping. We do have Magic Bands so don't technically NEED the cards, but we'll get them anyway when we have time...so glitches don't slow us down and because I hate the MB, don't like to wear any jewelry and those bands are annoyingly uncomfortable to me.

Thanks everyone for the responses. 4 out of 5 of us have Magic Bands, our college age son had not made the last couple of trips, so he does not have one - so we will need to actually pick up the tickets. But we aren't hitting the parks on our first day, but may be going to one of the resorts to watch Wishes that first evening, so we can pick them up then.

Yup. You could swing by TTC and pick up the ticket(s.)

BTW, it is quite possible that you can pick up the ordered ticket(s) at your WDW resort concierge desk. Stop by and ask.
The only tickets that they, for sure, cannot deal with are Annual Passes.
