Question about tickets and the parks

We arrive at WDW Sunday afternoon. We had planned to just hang out at PoP and swim, walk around, etc. If we have 4 day passes and we decided to go to the Magic Kingdom that evening then that would count as one of our 4 days, correct? I don't want to waste a pass for just a few hours at the park if that's the case.

Thanks
Kath

Yes, even if you just use it for an hour on one day, it is considered a day is used. How many days are you going to be there? Maybe you should up your passes one more day. The 5th day is only a few extra dollars. Does MK have extra Magical hours that night? How late is it open. We arrived on a Sunday and it had EMH's We got the park around 8PM. The parks offical closing time was 11PM, but with EMH's it was open till 2AM. We stayed till a little after 1. We rode so many rides. There wasn't much wait. We went a few days later in the day and it was so packed! We rode next to nothing. Then that last hour before closing ,after the fireworks, everyone was leaving and we jumped on a bunch of rides again. So you may be better off going that night. Especially if there is EMH's. I think you can add that 5th day right at check in if you want. But like I said, it's only a few dollars more to add a fifth day. You can do the math on the Disney website.

Yes, it does count. I agree with Jenseib about adding the day. It only costs a very few dollars more to add another day, and if it is an EMH night, that would be even better. If you don't want to do that, you could think about going into Downtown Disney or walk the Boardwalk after you swim and all at Pop, to finish out your evening fully immersed in the Disney atmosphere. This is your first family trip, I see, but does that mean that neither of you adults have been before at other times? If not, you are all in for an amazing experience and a fabulous time, and I'm very excited for you!

I think that we'll probably hang at PoP and swim and get ready for WDW the next day. This will be my DH's first time going and I went back in 74'. My dad and step-mom are also going. They are excited in taking the grandkids :cloud9:

Thanks!
Kathy

You might want to consider this advise. It's only $1 more to increase a child's 4-day pass to a 5-day pass. Adult 5-day passes cost just a little over $4 more than the 4-day passes.

Like jenseib said, it can be done after you get to WDW if you can't make the changes now or if you get to WDW and change your mind.

I know that I would have a difficult time just "hanging out" when Cinderella's Castle is so close.

Sorry to be Barging Kath...But just wanted to say THANKS Lisa....I did not know about the pricing with the passess...thanks for posting the info:)

Depending on how old the grandkids are, another fun thing to do instead of hitting the parks would be to play mini-golf. Also, head over to the Boardwalk area. From there you can watch the fireworks over Epcot without having to use a day. There is also cute places to walk around and get some dessert.

Those answers helped me out. I hadn't really been comparing between the prices.

DSis and neices are joining us for about 24 hours. They will leave around noon on Sunday. We want to spend as much time with them, so thought about doing something else than a park. Downtown Disney and dinner.

Based on the above info, I will still get 6 Day Tickets, leave CBR and have dinner at the Poly (I am thinking Kona Cafe) and then go to MK for the evening. It is only a couple of dollars more. Plus a bonus ride on the monorail.

Thanks again for all the help in sorting through things.

Good info, thanks!
