I was wondering if any one who has done a west coast repositioning cruise before and could tell me how it was. We are considering the 2012 6 night Vancouver to LA itinerary. A little info about us, we live in So California, have taken 3 cruises. (2 non Disney to Mexican Riviera) and one Disney 3 night out of Port Canaveral. Wondering what it is like with so many sea days and mostly domestic ports.

We did the 2011 LA to Vancouver repo and liked it so much that we booked it for 2012 and convinced my parents to go with us!

Neither me nor DD can stand too much heat so the domestic ports in the Spring worked beautifully for us.

We loved San Francisco - Victoria was not as exciting for us because we live here (but there is lots to see and do!) but I am really looking forward to spending a whole day in Vancouver next year. We don't get off the island much because of the ferry costs and my DD wants to see some of the sights on the mainland.

It was our first foray into cruising and I liked the sea days - there is so much to do on the boat.

I actually have another question. On the DCL website the map shows a stop at Victoria. But the actual Itinerary does not include it. Is this a mistake?

Go by what the itinerary says and not what the map shows.

*After checking the itinerary, not only does the map show Victoria, but the illustration is going in the wrong direction! It looks like that 6-night cruise stops overnight in San Francisco and that's the only port.

I am on the Disney repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles in September 2011 and I am looking forward to it. I have been on a similar repositioning cruise on another cruise line and I really enjoyed it. I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

We just booked the LA to Vancouver repositioning cruise for 2012 also! I loved the planned itin. Something different from the usual for us. DD's (age 21 and 23) will be coming too and I was hoping there would be plenty of activities for them on the sea days. Sounds like there will be.

You're right. The LA to Vancouver 2011 repo included a stop in Victoria, ditto for the Vancouver to LA 2011 and LA to Vancouver 2012 cruises. But the Vancouver to LA 2012 only stops in San Francisco.

We are on the Sept repo from Van to LA, its going to be our first cruise but the plans are if we enjoy while onboard, we are going to book the LA to Van for next year. I wish this cruise was also stopping in San Fran instead of Ensanada as I haven't heard the greatest of things about that port but not much we can do :)

We booked LA to Vancouver 2012 too! See you there! :wave2:

We live about 3.5 hours from SF so we will def stay aboard that day and have a spa/rainforest room day. Excited to visit Canada and have a decent number of days at sea too! :yay:

There are some pretty fun trip reports in that section of this trip..good read :)

We're on the Vancouver to LA repo this fall (B2B with Mexican Riviera) and we're really looking forward to the number of sea days - though we do wish they were stopping in San Francisco for the day - they're our favorites! Particularly enjoyed the number of sea days on the Barcelona - Orlando WBTA last year.
