question about the new reservation system and DDP

As I understand it, under the new system, multiple consecutive reservations at different resorts are now all under a single Trip Plan. As part of the changes, it has been said that DVC members may now pay for DDP during only part of their Trip.

So my specificic question, does anyone know if these DDP credits are good for the entire Trip plan, or only for the specific days purchased?

In other words, I have a upcomming stay which is 2 nights at AKV and 3 nights at BLT. If I purchased three days worth of DDP at BLT, would those credits be useable accross my entire 5 day trip, or just for the BLT days, similar to how it worked previously?

My understanding is that you still will have to split the stay in to segments to get the dining plan for only one portion. The credits will only be valid during the specific portion of the stay that they are for.
