Question about the mixed veggies at Rose & Crown (with surf 'n turf)

Okay, I meant to ask this when we got back in the summer, but then forgot until I had it again.

What are the little round slightly crunchy veggies in the seasonal veggie mix you get at Rose & Crown when you order the Surf and Turf (maybe it comes with other things as well). They almost look like slices of very small cabbages. All I can figure out is that at age 36, I have finally tried Brussel Sprouts and found out that I really like them alot.

I don't know for sure, but that describes Brussel sprouts perfectly, so I'm guessing you've expanded your dining repetoir! My DW makes a fabulous dish of carmelizing them in olive oil with a little salt and pepper and they made a believer out of me, as well!

DW was laughing that I asked about this. Of course she's never tried them and has no idea what they were either.

They are teeny brussel sprouts and I fell in LOVE with them last trip. I booked a reservation at R&C this year just so I can have them again.

So the last half of 2010, I find out that I like brussel sprouts and asparagus, after turning my nose to even trying them for 3+ decades.



If it ever comes to the point that I start liking peas, I guess I should start making funeral arrangements.
