For those who dont know, The kitchen sink is a huge ice cream sunday meant for several people.

Now my question, does PCH grill offer any incentive or contest if one individual were to take on the kitchen sink on they're own?

Im a 22 year old with quite an appetite and will probably be attempting this either way, but was wondering if they're was an incentive that might make it more fun:woohoo:

Is Man VS food on DVD? Cause I think I need to get you that for Christmas.

I would be down to split that thing, but I could never eat it by myself.

Splitting it would take away all bragging rights for me, and I just cant bear to do that to myself

You get a coupon for 10% off a triple bypass and a button that says, "Ask me what a disgusting pig I am!"

well that was quite unnecessary and rude. If you had something so cruel to say why on earth would you post that. This is the friendliest forum that i have ever posted on and would hope that it continue to remain so.

And for you information, many people enjoy the competitive eating culture. This guy happens to be skinny as a rail and a lot healthier than me. I'm the fat one.

What I'm trying to get at is...

As a disney fan I'm sure you remember Bambi. Well remember this, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say nothing at all."

Dude, it's not meant to be rude. Am I the only one that remembers Bill and Ted anymore?

Unfortunately I do not remember Bill and Ted since I have not seen those movies since I was very young. If it is indeed a movie reference, then I owe you an apology.

However, I hope that you can see how I came to this conclusion. A movie reference that sounds obviously insulting that comes from a film that in this age, is largely obscure, can easily be mistaken for a insult.

I apologize to Chris420 if it came across like that. As a refresher, in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, some kids took Napoleon to an ice cream parlor where they had a big sundae like the kitchen sink. Though everyone shared it, the staff treated Napoleon like he had eaten the whole thing, and there was indeed a prize: the waiters all came out chanting, making pig noses with their fingers, and oinking. Then they gave Napoleon a button with a pig on it. Rather than being insulted, he wore the button like it was a medal for battlefield valor.

In the movie it was called a "Ziggie Piggie". The whole scene was actually a reference to the old Farrell's ice cream parlor that did offer an incentive if you ate a huge ice cream mountain. They would also make a HUGE deal if you did eat it all. BTW they are opening one in Mission Viejo this fall

Disneynerd- so see Bill and Ted its hysterical!!!!!

I doubt that PPH has a eating incentive for such a big family treat, but I think a special Disboard award would be called for if you can finish one!! :rotfl:

I had no idea that was based on a real place. I always thought the joke was that they were giving him an "award" that was actually an insult but he didn't know enough to realize it so he wore the pig medal with pride. Actually, that still may be the joke.

It's funny that everything I "know" about life in Southern California comes from that movie. I have such a clear memory of seeing the movie at the theater with my friends and thinking that kids in California were living the dream.

It's only after this unfortunate incident that I realized I saw that movie 20 (!) years ago. It's been 20 years! Man, am I getting old.

Ok...... I do not know about this so please give me details. What is it like and how much is it? I have a feeling my kids would love it!

it is a huge ice cream sundae - 10 scoops of ice cream plus cookies, brownies, cherries, a whole chocolate bar(!), sauce, cream etc. My family had one to share last week and it cost $22. There were four of us eating and we could not finish it. Here are some pictures;

Good luck if you try on your own op! It was nice but too much for us

The thing at Farrell's was called the Pig's Trough. They had an old mechanical siren, tambourines, bells, whistles, and a big bass drum from a marching band that the staff would be pounding as other servers would RUN the trough through the restaurant on a stretcher! There was NO mistaking when you ordered a Pig Trough. Ah....good times.

:laughing:No worries, im a big bill and teds fan and caught on right away!

I figured there would be no actual incentive, but im thinkin it might be fun to try anyway, in the least ill have some good TR pics, whether im succussful or not lol

I forgot what it was called but man do I remember the sirens and the big old bass drum. I loved that place as a kid. I am so happy they are bring Farrell's back!

Alveron90- B&T had a lot of references to real places in the movie, like Waterloo the water park is actually Raging Waters that is still in San Dimas. It is a fun movie.

I can't wait to see that!:rotfl:

Good luck!

This is such a coincidence! Just last weekend my DH, myself, and DD16 watched Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. DH thought DD16 would like it, and she did. She also mentioned that a substitute teacher had shown it in history class sometime in middle school :scared1: What does that say about our public schools!??
