If you do the 1/2 and get the Donald Medal and full and get a Mickey medal.....do you also get a Goofy Medal or how does this work???

Also can any of you post a photo of your medals??? Looking for some inspiration.

Thanks

Kim

You do get all three!! I'll post a pic.

You need to be registered for the Goofy Challenge in advance. They capped Goofy at 3,000 this for 2007. At packet pickup/trade show go to the Goofy booths and process your paperwork. You'll get a stylish bracelet which you get to wear until the half.

When you finish the half get the Donald medal and then go to the Goofy processing tent, where they will take your half bracelet and put a full bracelet on your wrist. This was a bit of a wait in 2006 so hopefully they'll be quicker in 2007. Wear this until the full.

When you finish the full you do the same thing, get the Mouse medal and then go to the Goofy tent. They'll take your full bracelet and hang the Goofy medal on your neck right then and there.

And then wear it with pride. People will either think you did something really amazing, or that you're just a fool. Both, of course, are correct.

Thank you all for the info and the pictures....what motivation.

My DS would like to try the Goofy, not sure if he will or not but he is seriously considering it.

Kim -- How old is your son? I am seriously worried about some of the younger participants that I have seen at some races. I am not sure that younger participants know exactly how to take care of themselves to prevent injury or illness. Then again, based on my personal observations, I'm not sure that all adults know exactly how to take care of themelves through training and the events.

Thank you for your concern. He will almost be 18 by then. He is in really great shape but I am not sure if I will allow him to do both just something he was thinking about.

Kim,

I believe that the minimum age for the Full is 18. I don't know how strict they are about enforcing the age restriction.

My DS17 is planning on running the Full in 2008 when he'll be 18. He is even asking for the "Four Months to a Four Hour Marathon" book for Christmas. Four hours won't even be a problem for him if he trains. Last February he ran a Half with me and finished in 1:40. His only training was all the running he does for wrestling. I'll just have to keep on him about training since he will be a Freshman at the University of Florida, and adjusting to College life.

I can't wait, because I'm planning on going goofy in 2008.

Thanks for the info. On proper calculations on my part.....bad mom.....he will be 18 and a half.....getting all my dates mixed up. He is a July 1989 baby....yikes.....

Do you know is there is a min age for the 1/2. My DD will only be 15 will she be able to do the 1/2 with me???

I actually never thought of a age restriction thank you for brining that to my attention.

Congrats to your son and good luck to you on the Goofy.

Kim

I'm pretty sure it's 14 for the half, as CHimera's dd was eligible. So, you should be set. I know it's 15 or less.

Hi,

I RD ultramarathons and have know 2 16 year old completeing a 100 mile run. It is tough but with the proper training, anything is possible.
