We have an ADR there next week and the fried chicken sounds really good, but I have a REALLY hard time eating meat straight off the bone. Sounds silly, I know, but it's just one of my quirks. Can someone please tell me if this dish is in fact, 'on the bone'?

Thanks!! princess:

It's not silly. As an aside, a couple of years ago one of DD's sorority sisters went with us to WDW and we ate at Chefs de France. One of their most popular dishes is half-a-chicken, and it's pretty yummy.

Well, DD's friend Mary Kate got the chicken, and when it came out, she just stared at it with a look of total dismay. We soon learned that she, too, had this thing about bone-in chicken. We gently broke it to her that chickens did, indeed, have bones in them from birth, and that was the way the Lord made them, and as smart as geneticists are, no one had yet successfully bred a boneless chicken.

DW kicked into mama mode and picked the meat off for her, and she did fine.

So, PryncessChrysty, you are not alone. But maybe the good folks at 50's PT might have some chicken tenders or something.

If you like meat loaf or pot roast, those are both good dishes at 50's.

I have the same problem! I did order the fried chicken and managed to eat a couple of pieces that least resembled a chicken. I gave most of it to FIL, especially the breast with the visible ribs...I could never have made myself eat that. What I did eat was delicious! They have chicken pot pie on the lunch menu that looks really good. If your reservation isn't for lunch, maybe they'll make it for you anyway?

An aside, if you like chocolate and pb, try the chocolate pb shake. Our waitress pushed it and I didn't think I'd like pb in milkshake form so I got vanilla. DH got it though and it was amazing! I think I drank half of his!

That milkshake tastes an awful lot like a Reece cup, and I get one to go after my meal.

And if you do decide to get fried chicken - which is pretty good - it used to come with turnip greens or other greens. If that's not what you want, they'll substitute another veggie. I watched one poor little guy at another table just about gag when his server did the "airplane" move on him trying to get him to eat turnip greens.

How's this for silly - I didn't even make an ADR for 50's PT because I was sure the chicken was served with the bone still in! :rotfl2: We always buy poultry crowns to cook at home so I don't have to deal with the bones! :rotfl:

Quirks are good - it's what makes us unique! :hippie:
