Question about the Disney marathons?

My family and I will be at Disney during the marathons in January... where are the marathons held? Are there certain parks to avoid during the marathons? Have any other DIS non-participants been to WDW during the marathons--did they have any impact on your vacation? I would appreciate any information you can give me! Thanks!

I have never been to WDW during the marathon but my friend runs in it often and he always talks about how they start early in the morning and run through all the parks.

He also told me disney busses are best for transportation because of numerous road closures it is harder to navigate by car.

They start early in the a.m. so we did not find that it actually affected too much. They do let you know there may be some traffic delays due to the marathon, but it was not that bad. Our only delay, and it really wasn't a delay-just a detour, was the morning of the full marathon (Sunday) the bus to AK had to enter the parking lot through a different entrance.
