Question about the dining plan

I am thinking about getting the dining plan on my August of 07 visit. It sounds like a good deal, but there are some days my family only eats one meal a day.

If I want to carry-over a counter service meal for the next day can you do that?

Any replies would be appreciated.

Thank you.

You may use your meals as you see fit. All in one day :rotfl: or none that is one of perks IMO. Have fun

We recently tried the Disney Dining Plan for the first time and I am telling you it was the best decision we made! My daughter didn't fly in until 3 days after we arrived but she was on the same plan as the rest. This meant we could use her counter service meals as our breakfasts and we used her snacks for snacks to bring home with us. Her table service meals were used to do the Hoop Dee Doo Review.

Your meals do not expire until midnight the day you check out. I would suggest that you use your table service meals to book a signature dining location. You can find these locations on the Disney website or on allearsnet website. There is a Luau at the Polynesian resort which is wonderful. The Hoop Dee Doo Review is at Fort Wilderness. It's very funny and the meal is good ole down home cooking. The California Grill at the Contemporary is also a signature meal. The Brown Derby at MGM Studios is delish! We attended two signature meals and the tab was well over $150.00 but, with our dining plan, we just signed the ticket and paid nothing extra.

We paid just over $800.00 for the dining plan for a ten day stay and our meal tickets and snack tickets added up to over $1,400.00! What a deal we made!

We have been to Walt Disney World eleven times in the last nine years so I have lots of tips. The best tip I have is DO THE DINING PLAN!

Have fun, Lisa

I also agree that the dining plan is great. As mentioned above, your meals expire on the last day at midnight so anyone in your group can use them anytime until midnight when you check out. Take note that the dining plan gives you counter service and table service credits per night of stay, not per day. So if your staying 4 nights, 5 days, you get 4 counter service, 4 table service and 4 snacks per person per night and note that there are restaurants that are 2 table service credits per person.

Thanks that was very helpful.

One more question. Do they give you a coupon to give to the restaurant.

No, your room key is like a credit card, and all of the room's credits are pooled on them. So, for example, if you have 4 people in your room all 4 people's credits are accessible from the room keys to that room.

Let the server know at the beginning of your meal that you are on the plan.

\When the check comes, you present the card to your server, and then he or she brings you a receipt to sign. The total spent (saved?) is on the first receipt. Your copy will be totalled out. If you get anything not on the plan, for example alcohol, it will be totalled separately. You will need to pay separately, including tax and also leave tip for any out of pocket things. Tip and tax are included for any plan items.
After doing it once you will be an old pro! :)

Keep your eyes open for the possible free dining plan that might come out. You could apply the discount to your ressie and get the plan for free.

Happy planning!

However, note that you may lose a resort room rate discount if you switch to a package eligible for the free Dining Plan (assuming that promotion is offered again to American residents in 2007).

You guys are the best. Thanks to all.

I am definitely going to go with the dinning plan. If it is free all the better. I am staying at Pop Century, so the room discount probably will not be a deal breaker. That place is priced so reasonable anyway.
