Question about the Contemporary tower views

We booked a tower room at CR in February. Weird thing was, the MK views were all gone. Fully 6 months before we're going and not a one. I'm wondering what the chances that they'll have cancellations or something so we can get a guaranteed MK view? Or should I just hope for an upgrade when we get there? Not sure why it would be so crowded the first week in Feb to be sold out, unless the work they are doing on one of the garden wings is the reason.

The Contemporary has become a very popular WDW resort again after the recent rehab of the rooms. Remember that the MK view rooms are limited as the rooms on the MK side only cover floors 6 through 11. The 12th floor is the Tower Club and the 14th floor has the suites. I believe there are about 24 rooms per floor so that's only 144 rooms available for booking. Tower MK view rooms for the first two weeks of December '08 are already sold out!

Definately keep checking as others have mentioned since people do cancel their trips when unfortunate events arise. Being booked up 6 months in advance doesn't surprise me though. I booked my trip early last November for my upcoming trip the last week of this September, so that was over 10 months in advance....I still didn't get the week I wanted. Keep in mind this was before free dining was offered too. I was aiming for the 3rd week, but had to settle for the first or last week. Since I was there the first week last year, I decided to try the last week this year .
