So If I see someone post they are cancelling something I want..How long does it take the reservation to get back in the system??:confused3

If is is a table for 6 cancelled will I have any luck picking up a table for 4???

I have started watching for an Ohana dinner time for 12-9. I saw someone cancelling today, but still can get nothing to come up.

Did not see you could not post to subsribe to the thread unless you have something to cancel...oop..:rolleyes1 Guess I will just keep an eye on that thread everyday...

The canceled reservations cycle back into the system almost immediately. I've had mixed luck coordinating with people on the canceled threads. On a Le Cellier lunch ADR, she canceled and I called and after waiting a few minutes the CM answered, searched and found the exact ADR I was looking for.

For 'Ohana, did the same thing and had a really awesome CM who sat on the phone with me for almost 20 minutes searching (while I was also searching online) and we couldn't find the canceled ADR. He said sometimes with places like 'Ohana that are overbooked, the ADR may not get back into the system (that the system would not refill that table if the restaurant is already at or above its usual capacity).

So either that happened or someone else snatched the ADR while my computer was still searching. The CM said to see if you could coordinate with the person who wants to cancel to keep the ADR in their name and you coud just use it without canceling. But that would require that person to use another e-mail address if they needed to make another ADR at the same time. HTH :thumbsup2

You don't have to post a comment to subscribe to a thread. At the right side of the top of the thread, there's a menu that says "Thread Tools." You can choose to subscribe to the thread without posting.

A table for 6 won't necessarily come up on a search for 4.

My experience: I needed a table for 8 and none were available but there was one for 6 so I booked it and looked for another at the same time for 2...nothing for 2-4 people, BUT a second table for 6 was available for the same time.

I also managed too snag that Ohana yesterday for a table for 4 and I can not believe it!!!!:cool1:

The lady posted she cancelled Ohana for 12-9 at 3:07pm and I could not get anything to come up on line so I called and it was around 3:20 and sure enough I got the 5:15 slot for 4!!!

I was very happy and I love the DIS boards!!!!!:banana:

Thanks for the advice guys....

It can be hit or miss. The cancelled ADRs show up immediately but may not show up for the same number of people always.

For example, one time I cancelled a reservation for 4 at Crystal Palace and went back and looked and saw it was only coming up in the system as a reservation for 5 or 6. I'm guessing that if they have a spot for 1 or 2 that's open and someone cancels a 4 they may combine it to give bigger parties options? And if they want to hold a certain number of tables for bigger parties and you are searching for a table of 2, 3, or 4 you won't see these openings.

Then today I coordinated with someone and they cancelled a reservation for 4 and it was in the system immediately and I was able to pick it up (for 4).

I did learn that if there's a reservation online for 6 and you only need 4 you can call and they can reserve the 6 for you and then go back in and edit the party size to 4 for you. That's what they did for me once. I didn't want to book for 6 and waste 2 spaces so when I called the lady was really helpful and that's what she did for me.
