If I order a bottle of wine at a restaurant and don't finish it, can I bring it back to my resort room?

Thanks!

I don't know if you can walk out with a bottle of wine. My Dh and I ordered a bottle of wine at narcooses one night and couldn't finish it so we poured it into our resort mugs(we made sure no one was looking:laughing:) and finished it at he poly beach watching the fireworks.

Yes, we were able to take our unfinished bottle of wine with us. They will seal the bottle in a plastic bag before you go.

Thanks!

I'd love to have a glass with dinner, then another glass after the 4 year old has gone to bed :)

Yes you can, I just did this last month at California Grill, they even gave me a wine bag to carry it in. They knew I was staying at BLT so they didn't seal it up in plastic.

I'm glad you brought this up, I was wondering the same thing.

It is allowed by Florida law.
564.09 Restaurants; off-premises consumption of wine.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a restaurant licensed to sell wine on the premises may permit a patron to remove one unsealed bottle of wine for consumption off the premises if the patron has purchased a full course meal consisting of a salad or vegetable, entree, a beverage, and bread and consumed a portion of the bottle of wine with such meal on the restaurant premises. A partially consumed bottle of wine that is to be removed from the premises must be securely resealed by the licensee or its employees before removal from the premises. The partially consumed bottle of wine shall be placed in a bag or other container that is secured in such a manner that it is visibly apparent if the container has been subsequently opened or tampered with, and a dated receipt for the bottle of wine and full course meal shall be provided by the licensee and attached to the container. If transported in a motor vehicle, the container with the resealed bottle of wine must be placed in a locked glove compartment, a locked trunk, or the area behind the last upright seat of a motor vehicle that is not equipped with a trunk.

LOL So I can only take the wine out if I eat my veggies? Too funny....

Does the wine itself count as the beverage?

I had sushi and a basket of bread. I guess there is vegetable in the sushi...there's seaweed in there

It does not say that you have to eat the vegetables or salad, just purchase a meal which includes them.

I would think the wine would be the beverage.

This is definitely good information! Agree with PP about a glass with dinner and another in the resort after DD5 is asleep! :)

Looks like we will be buying more bottles on our next trip...now, if Dh and I can just agree on the wine! LOL
