Question about switching from Wishes to Escape ...

Dh and I are waffling on whether we want to stick with our Wishes ceremony as planned or scale back to an Escape. We're not at the 12-month mark yet, but have a tentative hold on the WP and SCP (apparently we could have booked the WP at 16 months but since we want SCP, we need to wait 'til 12 months).

If we do downgrade to an Escape, do we run the risk of losing our time to a Wishes bride before we hit the 12-month mark? Or will DFTW let us keep our time?

We don't want to renew our vows on any date other than our actual anniversary, so if we would risk losing our time/date, we'll just stick with Wishes and figure out a way to spend our way to the minimum.

I do not think you lose your time or place based on which bride you are. I am a Wishes bride and lost in the lottery my two time slots to Escape brides. So I dont think that has anything to do with it.I think Wishes or escape only has to do with the financial aspect of things.

OK, that helps. I'm so sorry you lost your two time slots though! My coordinator never said anything about a possible lottery ... if we end up without a time on our date, I guess the whole shootin' match will be cancelled. Ugh.

Wait, though ... if Wishes brides can sign their LOAs so much earlier than Escape brides (provided their receptions aren't somewhere that requires waiting 'til 12 months), how can a Wishes bride lose her time slot to an Escape bride? Now I'm really confused!!
