Question about SWA Credit card rewards

If I close my SWA cc account before the next annual fee is due, do I get to keep all of my rewards points I've accumulated so far?

I would hate to close it, and THEN find out my points are gone.

I was told yes.....

However, I think the points expire after 2 years or so if you have no activity in your SW rewards account, at least that is what someone told me when I signed up for this card last fall.

Your annual fee will be charged on your first bill, so no getting out of paying it.

They said "next"....my guess is they don't want to pay the annual fee for year 2. We'll be cancelling at least one of the two cards we got in the fall so we don't pay it for the 2nd year.

Oh, you're right. I misunderstood the poster.

Though it was common when the offer first came out for people to say they were getting the card and then canceling to get out of paying the yearly fee.

I'd love to know the answer to this, too. Our trip is planned for NEXT November, so 18ish months. If I cancel the card before we have to pay the second annual fee, will we get to keep the points? Are they in your RR account, separate from your CC account?
