Question about staying at the Villas.

Are members the only ones that can stay at the villas? I just returned from a great vacation at the VWL with my brother and his family. I am the owner but he would like to stay there next year. Can he make a reservation through the regular reservation system or is renting points the only way to stay there.

Yes, CRO has rooms available for regular reservations. DVC retains some rooms plus rooms become available when members tradeout. They sometimes even offer AP, AAA or code discounts.

He can rent a room through CRO, but the DVC units tend to be pricey. He can rent points from you or another member, which would probably be cheaper. Or you could be a really, really nice sibling and give him some of your points.

But the number of villas available for cash is often quite limited, and most go for rack rate (don't forget to add the 11.5% tax). Has your brother seen the rack rates? Perhaps he would be interested in renting points, instead. If you are willing to go through the hassle (and your brother is reliable, LOL), you could get the rented points transferred to your account and thus have control over the reservation.
