Question about split stays...

If you do a split stay and you have a pin or any other discount, will it be for both resorts or just one? I know it may be a silly question, but I'm in early planning stages here. We stayed at POFQ last year and next year we will probably stay at POP, but I would also love to stay at a different moderate too. I really am leaning towards Fort Wilderness Cabins, but would not want to be stuck there or POP for that matter for the whole trip. I like change:rolleyes1 I also would like to stay at CSR.

I need to win the lottery!:wizard:

Split stays are considered separate reservations, so a discounted or pin room would need to be available at each resort you want to book.

If you have a PIN, you can generally use it for 2 reservations, so yes, you can get the discount at both resorts. As the PP noted, however, the room has to be available with the PIN at the time of booking.;)

Okay, so I will assume this would apply to free dining also. We are planning a trip late August 2011 and am hoping for free dining. I have gotten a few pins also, so that is always an option if they don't do the free dining then.

Thanks,

Kim

I would assume so -- it's just considered 2 totally separate reservations. However, if you book a package, be aware that you will have to buy park tickets with each package. And that can really raise the price of a split-stay (even if you just get 1-day passes).

For a good split, I prefer one 2 room-only reservations, or one package + 1 room only. Of course, it really depends on what happens when you price it all out.;)

Yes, free dining would need to be available for both resort rooms. Depending on whether or not park tickets need to be purchased, you probably want to look at all the details when/if a free dining option is released.

For example, if you do a 10 night split stay and free dining requires the same number of days for park tickets, you'd have to purchase 5 day tickets at your first resort, then 5 day tickets at your second resort (if you want free dining for all 10 nights). You'd be paying twice as much for two sets of 5 day tickets, as opposed to the one 10 day ticket. Hope that makes sense.
