Question about Split Stays and Park Tickets

I have an odd question and I'm not sure where it belongs:crazy:. If this is the wrong forum, my apologies.

We are heading down in three weeks and for the first time we are splitting our stay between two resorts. I purchased our park tickets from Undercover Tourist and have plans to have them put on our KTTW cards as we have in the past. My question is, when we switch resorts I am assuming we will be given new KTTW cards. If this is the case, can they switch the park tickets from the original KTTW cards to the new KTTW cards?

TIA!

You are switching from one Disney resort to another, right? I'm thinking it won't be a problem at all to just switch your remaining ticket days over to your new key. Or maybe keep your tickets on the key and just change the code to open your door. That would be a CM question....or maybe someone here knows for sure which way they do this.

We sometimes switch from a DTD hotel to a Disney resort.....and the Disney resort always puts our remaining days on our key, even though we were staying at a non-Disney resort to start the trip.

Would like to know what it means to put your tickets on our "KTTW" cards? We also have tickets from Undercover Tourist and are staying 6 nights at the Poly and 1 at POP.

KTTW = "Key to the World"....I'm pretty sure!

Disney resort guests receive a card that can open a door, make purchases, and keeps track of your tickets. Everything on the one card! If you have tickets that you've purchased separately, CMs working the front desk at a resort can transfer them to your KTTW. Or at least they were able to do that for us in the past. However, we purchased our tickets from Disney, not the establishment mentioned here. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

As long as there is only a single ticket involved (i.e. no additional ticket purchased to qualify for a package), then you can have the ticket put on your resort ID at the first resort. When you change resorts, the ability exists for a Lobby Concierge CM to transfer the unused park days to the new resort ID (again assuming that no additional ticket was purchased).

Wonderful, this answers my question perfectly! We have not purchased any tickets as part of a package since we are staying on DVC points. It will be great not having to carry around more than one card...we've become very spoiled with the KTTW cards!

Thanks!

This is what Disney calls your Key To The World card. It is your room key. You can take your room keys to the Lobby Concierge along with your park tickets, regardless of where your purchased them, and ask to have your tickets put on your room key. Now when you head out to the parks you take your KTTW card and it is your park ticket, can be used to make purchases charged back to your room, and it is your hotel room key. This makes it the only thing you need to carry while you are out and about!

Not everyone likes to do this, but we love it!

I am doing the same thing. Renting on DVC points and then switching to Pop. I thought the tickets would be completely separate from room/charge key card.

This might be something to post on the Sticky Thread at the top of this forum, about MYW. I would like to know as well. Would be nice to not have to carry around multiple items times four people, but I think we may have to.
