Question about split stay and 2 different dining plans

Ok.. I have had my Adr's for some time.. and I have recently changed my resort ressies to include a split stay.. Now, I am comtemplating changing 1 of the stays to include to DDXP rather than the DDP..
A couple of questions?
How much per day would I need to spend on food to make it worth my while? (we are 2 adults and 1 child)
If I decide to do it on the second part of my trip do i have to wait to get the refillable mug until then or can I get the free one at the beginning of my trip.

I have looked and it seems there are still lots of places that I can still get ADR's..

The rule of thumb with DxDP is that it makes financial sense if you use at least 2/3 of the credits for TS (including 2 TS meals). You would have to wait for the second part of the stay to get the mugs, though, as those entitlements are tied to the second reservation.

Basically, you're adding a little over $30/night for adults and about $9/night for children to upgrade to DxDP, so that's you're spending difference target for break-even. (Note that you also get appetizers with your TS meals on DxDP.)

And if you do the deluxe plan the second half of your stay you only get the mug when you check in then, not at the first half.

Now if you switch them and do deluxe first you technically can use it throughout, especially if you don't switch resorts.

Hmmm.. Something to think about.. I am definitely having a hard time deciding.. It would be great to do it at the beginning.. but, paying extra and then having 1 night spending over $100 OOp at Il Mulino, just doesn't make finanacial sense.. but, I have my heart set on eating there..
I don't really care about the mug.. although, I am usually an early riser and I am sure going to the Food Court to grab coffees for my husband and I would be what I would do through out the trip.. So, we would need it at the beginning..
