Question about Splash Mountain

We recently returned from Disneyland and I've been wondering something about Splash Mountain. Is the big drop higher than the one at MK or did it seem that way because I rode in the front for the first time ever? Or maybe the car configuration made it seem that way? It just seemed higher and endless. ;)

I LOVED this version of Splash by the way. I was shocked at the wait times and so happy for FastPass even if Indiana Jones ate up most of ours. :D

Bump... I don't mind killing a bunch of threads ;) but we're still wondering about this!

I noticed this, too. I checked the DL and WDW websites, and both claim it's a five-story drop. I think the reason it seems longer is because of the log configuration--it's more narrow. I've only been on Splash Mountain at WDW once, but I've been on the DL Splash many times, and I think it's definitely a more thrilling drop no matter where you sit! :earseek:

I don't have an answer for you but I can't wait to compare notes after our WDW in December.

My kids just got back from a trip with their Dad and they didn't even go on this because of the 120 mins waits. I was a bit bummed (not only because I didn't get to go) but I was hoping to hear how the new logs looked and if it made the ride "feel" any different.

There was an 120 minute wait when we rode it too so I was very glad to have FastPasses. We grabbed our FastPasses around 1:00 in the afternoon to get 7:40-8:40!!! But it was a great ride. :D

The new logs made me feel a lot more isolated. They gave DS the front with me behind but he decided that was too much for him and I rode in the front for the first time ever. I kept shouting things over my shoulder to DS because the drop makes him feel a little nervous. I even had to twist around to show him the bars to hang onto on the sides because he didn't see them. It was a new ride in more ways than one for us!
