Question about spinning rides

I can't spin. I get nauseus looking at the teacups. However, I love roller coasters and I have no problem being flipped upside down so I know it isn't a complete motion sickness problem. So I was wondering about Toy Story Mania and Buzz Lightyear. I know they spin, but is it excessive? A little is okay it's just the constant turning that does me in but I don't want to get motion sickness at Disney.

You should be fine. On Buzz you decide if you want to spin or not. There is a controller on you car and you can turn it to shoot at different targets. I suppose someone could set it to spin in circles but you'd miss all the targets! On TSM you don't ever "spin" you just make short turns to face a different direction. Your car faces one screen where you spend a minute or so shooting at targets and then your car flips around to another screen and you shoot at those targets for another minute or two. Stay away from Primeval Whirl, that would make you sick!

my Hubby is the SAME WAY !!!

He has NO problem with TSM and BUZZ... Incidentally... in BOTH you can control the way you spin...

He has also done Mission Space...

but Tea Cups? NO WAY!...
Hope that helps !

I am the exact same way - can't even look at the teacups without getting sick!:headache: I ride both Toy Story Mania and Buzz Lightyear and have no issues. The only thing that bothers me a little on Buzz, is there is a part where you go through a tunnel where you are surrounded by screens that make it look like you are in outer space - I have to close my eyes during that part and I'm fine.

I can't spin, either, but like you I have no problems on roller coasters!!! As long as I'm going forward, loops and corkscrews are fine and dandy:confused3! You'll be fine on Toy Story Mania, it's more like the old Whip ride where you whip around the turns and that's about as crazy as it gets, but make sure the person manning the joystick on Buzz is not spin-crazy because you WILL get nauseous. Also, if you're going to DHS, avoid Star Tours. That one made me so sick it wasn't funny. No one had fun watching me blow serious cookies in the wastecan!!! Thank God it wasn't "Push"!!!! :scared1:

I'm very motion sensitive, and TSM (at DL, DW might be different) and Buzz (ridden both DW and DL) are fine for me.

I'm not OK with roller coasters either. Oddly enough, I'm OK with the Tea Cups, and dh is a spinner, lol, but the Carousel does me in. I don't know why. I swear I feel like I need to bring a barf bag with me when I take the kids on it.

TSM & Buzz don't spin in circles. Buzz turns if you make it turn. I got a tad dizzy one time on TSM when we turned around backward & went around the corner. The tea cups made me nauseous & I held the wheel still as much as I could & wouldn't let the kids turn it.

I'm the same way; there's no way I could do the tea cups, even with not spinning our cup it is enough to make me nauseous and riding with DS, who spins like crazy, would absolutely have me tossing cookies. The Carousel is about my limit for going in circles. But I have NO problem at all with Buzz or TSM. There's no real spinning to speak of, just turning from one side to the other to face targets.

Buzz Lightyear has one very small slow turn near the beginning where the ride car turns from the direction it was in when you loaded to the ‘playing’ position. After that, any movements are up to the rider.

Toy Story Mania turns after each game to put your ride car into position for the next game. It is a high speed turn, but not really a spin. It is not under control of the riders - the turn just happens and you have no control over how fast or what direction.
