question about soda

Not sure how DCL does things but when I cruised years ago and ordered soda from the bar, I got a teeny tiny glass with soda. One time the waiter gave me the can to fill up my glass so after that I asked for the can. I could've probably bought several 2 ltrs for the price they charged for one can! :earseek:

LOL.... Maybe I will just stick with the Sprite!! That and good ole water should keep me hydrated!!

I wish it was pepsi products but it isn't I am guessing it is just like WDW and exclusivly Coke products which is why they got rid of DP in the resorts etc. Oh btw DP stands for Dr Pepper for those that didn't know.

We bought a couple of the souvenier cups ($3 each) at the beginning of our cruise. By the time you add ice and filled them up you may have gotten 3/4 of a can of soda. I may bring some larger soda mugs (32 oz'ers) on our next cruise so they last a while...

The lemonade at the beverage station is great. We went before free soda was added. As a family we decided we would wait until the second day to decide on buying unlimited soda passes.
THE KIDS said, on the second day, why bother?
They got their fill of soda at dinner in the dining room, got OJ and hot chocolate at breakfast at Topsiders, fruit punch at lunch at topsiders, and lemonade/milk when ever they wanted at the beverage station.
I'm with the folks that don't want to lug soda/butter/coffee/booze/sweetener with me.
I'm on vacation, ready to try new things. I can get COKE/PEPSI/RC/DR. PEPPER 51 weeks of the year. For one week I can eat escargot, lobster bisque and all the things I don't eat at home and wash it down with the wrong brand of soda:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

LOL:teeth: Thanks TVGUY for the info on the beverages. Especially the lemonade!! Sounds great. Living in the desert, I think about fluids a LOT...and since this our first cruise, I am trying to learn all that I can. Sounds like I won't dry up after all!!

We sailed last week on the magic and found the complimentary soda a nice change from our past cruises.

They had several ice machines and about 3 separate soda stations...we never encountered any lines. Once in a while one of the ice machines would be empty but there were 3 or 4 so ice was always available.

The products were if I can remember:
coke
diet coke
sprite
diet sprite
pink leomonade
orangeade
ice tea (not sweetened)...I mixed lemonade and ice tea together
milk
coffee
tea
hot choc.

I brought one of the medium sized Dunkin Donuts plastic cups with lid and long straw that you get when ordering ice coffee at DD...it worked great onboard as I could add lots of ice and a good quantity of beverage at one time.

I did notice that the cold cups are bigger than the cups on our last cruise.
