Do you get a DRINK and a SNACK or does the drink count as your snack. Say I wanted a diet Coke and a cream cheese pretzel (or Pepsi- whatever WDW serves now) would I pay OOP for the drink or is a snack a drink+food? Dining plan newbie :)

A drink and a pretzel would use 2 snack credits. What I would suggest is using your snack credit for the higher price items like the prezel and then pay OOP for your drink as they are fairly inexpensive compared to the food snacks. Just be sure you don't end up with a bunch of leftover credits at the end so that you didn't spend additional money unnecessarily.

They are both snacks credits. So you would use 2 credits to get both. Or if you wanted you could pay Op for the coke and use a credit for the pretzel.

Snack credits are for single items only. Yes, as noted, a drink and a pretzel would cost two snack credits. This year, Disney has also confirmed that purchasing cereal plus milk will count as a CS meal.

Thanks- we usually get a souvenier cup or two and use them all week and have them filled for free with ice and water when we are getting a snack someplace that can do that. If they start charging for ice and "sink" water we are going to be in trouble... guess we could fill it at the water fountains instead but I do love my ice water.

You can get free water at any counter service anywhere.

Most of them will not take your mugs into the food service area to fill them, but they will give you a cup of ice water.

we always order our drinks from garden grocer. They deliver them to our resort for arrival and we get a case of 24 waters for roughly the cost of 4 in the parks. Similarly cheap for orange juice and sodas. Then we use all our snack credits for true snacks. If we have credits left over (which we did in the dozens in 2010 when we did dxdp) then we just stock up on goofy candy etc. and bring them home as gifts. to be fair on the standard ddp you only have one snack a day and it is all too easy to use them for cupcakes/chocolate at Caramell Kuche or ice-creams. ;)

Chocolate Minnie- I LOVE Garden Grocer- last 2 trips my DS was still in diapers and it was so nice to have all that kind of stuff delivered to our villa and not have to shop or pack it all in our suitcase. I wish we had Garden Grocer at home!
