DH & I did it a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure I would do it again, though. The price wasn't bad. It lasted about a half hour. The only complaint I had was with the horse. We would go a little bit, maybe 5 minutes, then the horse would stop, for whatever reason...don't know. The driver had to get down and pull the horse and get it started again. This happened at least 3-4 times! It got kind of funny, after a while. I had visions of the horse taking off, with us in the sleigh and the driver standing there! I thought we would go through the campground, but that's not where we went. We started to go through it, but after a couple minutes, we turned around, went through the Wilderness Lodge, near the villas, turned around, went back, then back through the parking lot to the Lodge. I guess if you have nothing else to do, then do it. If you have kids, they will probably get a kick out of it. Have fun!
You have to call and reserve it. They will take your credit card info, but it's only for holding the reservation. We paid the driver $30 in cash, after the ride. I also gave him a $5 tip. I'm assuming the cc info is for no-shows. Have fun!
It's a carriage that's dressed up to look like a sleigh... It's got runners on the bottom to cover up the wheels. There's no snow for the sleigh, it goes along a concrete trail... through a wooded area and then back towards VWL and WL. I booked the sleigh ride back on 12/8 so if you have any other questions, let me know!
We did it on the 23rd. It was nice if you went after it was dark. We were definitely in the Xmas spirit and that helped. But basically, it's the same thing as taking a carriage ride down at the Port Orleans Riverside and it costs the same too.
