Question about side tours...beach related

I was thinking that on one of our travel days, both of which will give us about half a day for fun, we might try to go to the beach. I won't have a car, so I'm wondering, is there any shuttle service from the Disney resorts to local beaches? Does the local bus system run that route? I don't think I'd want to pay for a tour...we'd just like to go long enough so the boys could wade, build a sandcastle or two, and then head back. Idea? Thanks!

I hope someone more knowledgeable can help but.

1) There are tour buses that leave from the Anaheim area. Not sure of the cost but just to confirm it is out there.

2) Super shuttle offers a private van service and again I don't know the cost but you could call to inquire 1-800-BLUE-VAN

3) Taxis would be an option
