Question about Segway Tour

FYI - the age limit is 16. When we did the tour a couple of weeks ago, there was a 16 year old. They didn't seem to ask for proof that she was 16, she did just fine!

We booked the tour a few weeks ago for May 13th and were told to bring picture id with us, they go through all the details when you call. Such as helmets must be worn, outdoor tour so wear suitable clothing, over 16, under 250lbs etc.

One thing that did worry me (only a little) was that they told me that if the weather was bad they would cancel the 2nd outdoor part of the tour and would give a 50% refund, seems odd cancelling to tour part of the tour and you still have to pay for the first training part.

Paul.

I'm not sure how strict they are, but when I scheduled our tour, they said that we had to bring ID. If a minor is with parents then maybe they don't require it. I would just hate to not have it and then be turned away. You may want to double check. Anyone who has already taken it, Did they ask for ID?

how strict are they on the weight thing? dh is over 250 but we're doing a family "get healthy/fit" campaign between now and the trip, but i would hate for him to be turned away for being 255 or so, kwim? hmmm... do they have a scale?

Hubby and I did this tour in June of 2004. It was great. It cost $65.00 a person with the AP discount. I would do it again, but we will have our boys with us. When hubby and I go again alone, maybe we will repeat the tour. Love to ride the Segway and it was so easy to learn. :cool1:

They were very strict about it when I was there. They put two people on a scale because they looked like they could be over the limit. One woman was so excited that she weighed "only" 249lbs with her helmet on.

OOPS, good to know, I don't know why I have 18 stuck in my head so much! :confused3 My kids will love to know that they're suddenly 2 yrs closer to trying this out.. :rotfl:

if anyone has had to show photo id for this tour. I know they tell you to bring it - but do they actually check? I'm just not sure what we would use for my daughter. Any suggestions? School id doesn't have birthdate on it.
Thanks!

I would call Disney an ask them what you do for minors. I know for adults they will check. I went on a tour that went behind the scenes and you had to have one. Two people didn't bring them and had to go back to get theres and they missed part of the tour. When our bus got to MK guard gate - the security guard board the bus and we had to show him our ID before we went backstage.

Thanks for all the information on this.

I feel much better about being "able" to do it.

And we did have a question about if they weigh you. DH is a big guy, just under 250.

So they do weigh you huh?
