I want to give my kids blank albums and papers/accessories for Christmas - to put together themselves. Plus by an album and supplies for myself. We will be at WDW the weekend after Thanksgiving. My question is should I buy their albums and accessories ahead of time online or buy the stuff at the store iin DTD? I was looking at some stuff on ebay from CDI marketing (I think that's the name) and they had some neat stuff. Alot of it was marked "themepark/resort exclusive". How hard are these to find at WDW? I won't have a whole lot of free time to go resort hopping. Also if I wait till I get there and the selection is lame I won't have a whole lot of time to order before Christmas. Any suggestions?
Thanks - Kimba

I would buy the Theme Park exclusive stuff from DTD, it will be cheaper. CDI marketing does have some stuff that has been discontinued, but for the most part they have what the DTD store has. CDI raises the price and charges a lot for shipping, even combined shipping. I order 2 of the Transportation scrapbook kits from them several weeks ago because I can't find them at WDW anymore and they changed me $10 for shipping. If you do need to order from them before Christmas, it took less than a week for them to get it to me. I would just ask them if they can get it to you quick. They seem very nice.

A lot of the gift stores in Disney have a scrapbooking section, but there are some things that you can only find in the store at DTD. If you are looking for just the basics (albums, stickers, etc.) you can try any large gift store. If you want to include charms and punches you might want to fit in a trip to DTD.

We are heading to WDW in 21 days (first trip) and I will be doing 3 scrapbooks for my ds, ds, dd. Is there one particular store in DTD that carries the scrapbooking supplies?

Yes, there is a store JUST for scrapbooking :goodvibes

I just returned from Disney last week. And, I was really disappointed with Downtown Disney. Anyways, I did check-out the Scrapbooking store and found that I could have saved myself a trip because between the parks and the Beach Club, Broadwalk & Yacht Club gift shops I could buy the same stuff there. They didn't carry anything special at the DTD scrapbook store. However, you might have to go to several gift shops to find all the stuff that they carry at the DTD scrapbook store. I'd only make the trip if there is something else special that you like to do there. I attached some pictures that I took of the merchandise. it might be difficult to see but I bought the eyelets, package of 40 sheets of paper, an album, the 3-D 2005 Mickey mouse sticker & the stones. They had brad like buttons of the castle that looked cool.

About how much was it? If you don't mind me asking :) I was going to order one from ebay but I don't want to be ripped off. I'm glad to hear that you felt the parks had stuff too - just in case I don't get to the store in DTD. By the way what is the store called?

Thanks,
Kimba

Kimba,

The store is called Disney's Wonderful World of Memories. The album I bought is the one that looks black/brown with the 3-D metal castle on the front. The Album costed $32 plus the 6.5% sales tax. I believe, you can order direct from WDW mail order at 407-363-6200. GL....

I like that album. Very classic looking. I'm writing World of Memories down on my list of must do's in DTD. I think I may just wait and buy the album there. It will give me a good excuse to "HAVE" to go in there

Thanks Again!
Kimba
