Question about Safes in the hotel rooms

I was just wondering if anybody had any experience using the safes that are in the motel rooms, either good or bad. We are planning our last minute preperations...14 days and counting I know our hotel has a safe in it but not really sure about using it. TIA

Leaving something in a hotel room safe is better than leaving it in the nightstand drawer, but don't get a false sense of security. In-room safes are not as secure as many think. If you really want something to be safe, get a safe deposit box at the front desk. They will safeguard your valuables and usually insure them as well.
