Question about resorts on rented points

I am wondering if you check into your DVC rental and you are on rented points and the room has issues-not clean, broken amenities etc and you asked to be moved do they move you? What if the resort is booked and they have to move you to another resort how does that work on points that were rented that do not belong to you? I am just curious...

If the resort moves you and it costs less to rent the new place the owner is credited with the points. If it costs more to go to the new resort, only the owner can authorize the move. If you are moved without point change there is no problem.

However, if you wait to change rooms the second day there is often a fee involved and it would be charged to the owner who would want you to pay for it. Hopefully if there are problems with the room no fees would be involved but it is something you need to confirm.

If you need to move rooms I would call the owner too besides complaining to the front desk. That way the owner can confirm any issues regarding points by contacting DVC member services.

DVC will not move you unless the room has a major issue and is not fit for occupancy. If you enter a room and don't like the location or view, some resorts will charge you for a full clean if they allow you to switch rooms.

IMO part of the reason for their position on DVC stays is due to the points accounting which the resorts don't fully understand.

I would never change for a view. I booked the views I wanted. I just keep reading about things broken and musty smell, mold etc. which worry me since my kids both have asthma. I just wanted to know what the procedure is if something went catastrophic. I've never had any problems with the resorts I have stayed in but renting points is a whole other ball game. I am going to keep my fingers crossed that nothing is horribly wrong with our room :)
